Short Biography of Mukesh Puri, the founder of Rishi Foundation. He is born in Gharsana, Rajasthan, India. He studied Sanskrit and Vedic knockledge at the Sanskrit College Shree Ganga Shardul Varisth Upadhyay Mahavidyalaya in Bikaner, Rajasthan. At the age of twelve years, he adopted Sannyasa in Haridwar, Haryana.
He is member of the Shree Panch Dashnaam Juna Akhara, which is India’s largest and most ancient order of sadhus who are also called Naga Sannyasis. In parallel, he started to learn and integrate the Vedic knowledge of sannyasa and sadhana from his guru Sri Mahant Prem Puri Ji. He has received several initiations at Kumbh Melas (2010 in Haridwar, 2013 in Allahabad, 2015 in Nasik, 2016 in Ujjain). He has the function of « Thanapati » (Branch Manager) and accomplishes different activities in the organization of the Shree Panch Dashnaam Juna Akhara, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
His grand guru Baba Vishwnath Puri Ji left his physical body in 2013 and Mukesh Puri has been designed to become the head of his ashram Shiv Mandir in the village of Shamgarh, in the district of Karnal, and therefore honored with the title of “Mahant”.
He participated in the Mahāyāga, an important Vedic fire ceremony for world peace, conducted by Sri Tathata in 2014 Palakkad, Kerala.
Thanks to generous sponsors, a temple – in memory of his grand guru Baba Vishwnath Puri Ji – was completed and consecrated in 2015, inside the enclosure of the ashram.
2016 was a life changing year for Mukesh Puri as his beloved guruji Sri Mahant Prem Puri Ji left his physical body and Mukesh Puri decided to found the Rishi Foundation.
Thanks to the generous donnations of the citizens of Shamgarh, a beautiful statue of the goddess Durga, the protective mother oft he universe, was inaugurated in 2017 in the ashram to protect and enhance peace, prosperity and all that is good and harmonious in the world.
Besides his responsability as a head of his ashram and his commitment in serving the Shree Panch Dashnaam Juna Akhara, Mukesh Puri is also conducting spiritual programs all over India.
